This month, McDougle Elementary hosted its inaugural Kindergarten Signing Day, welcoming nearly 80 kindergartners.
During the event, our youngest McDougle Lions “signed” with their school while families looked on with pride, met their principals and teachers, and made new friends with their grade-level peers.
“Our Class of 2038 took their first big step! Big dreams start small! Kindergarten Signing Day for McDougle celebrates our newest scholars as they take their first step toward graduation,” Principal Hazel Berry said. “It’s a joyful welcome, a promise for the future, and a reminder that in Klein ISD, EVERY child enters with a promise and exits with a purpose.”
The goal of this event was to create a welcoming environment as the students and families began their journey at a new school with smiles and a ton of support.
“This event is great because it was an intro for the little kinder kids.” Kindergarten grandmother Angelina Davidson said. “My little one came from Grace England, so he was a little nervous at first, but when he saw this event with the bubbles and popsicles, I saw how it eased his fears. I also have a fourth-grader here, and I love this school. Every teacher is so personable, and they truly care about the learning experience of their students. I’m so grateful for that."
For some of the kindergarten families, McDougle Elementary is more than just a school — it’s a place where they feel confident and excited to send yet another one of their children to learn and grow.
“I love the family-oriented environment and amazing support system here at McDougle.” Kindergarten mom Ameena Whitfield Abram said. “I love the way the staff moves when you need your child to grow. My oldest is now 18 years old and he has always made good grades ever since his time at McDougle. All my kids are McDougle Lions and are great leaders in and out of school. I’m grateful to be here for the 2025 school year as my son is entering kindergarten. Let’s go, Lions!”
It’s clear that our McDougle Elementary families are all excited and ready to take on the school year with Lion Pride. We hope all of our kindergarteners have an amazing 2025-2026 school year!
