Dear Klein ISD Families and Community,
We have reached the end of an incredible first semester in Klein ISD, and I want to thank you for your continued support of our more than 50,000 students and 7,500 employees.
In this Quarter 2 Recap, you’ll learn about:
I am so excited to share that Klein ISD has been recognized as a Career and Technical Education District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Education Association of Texas for the second year in a row! This prestigious honor places Klein ISD among the top 6% of districts statewide. More than 26,000 Klein ISD students in grades 7–12 are enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs, where they have the opportunity to earn nearly 100 industry-based certifications, college credits, and valuable workforce training.
The Klein Cain High School Orchestra has been named the #1 high school orchestra in Texas by the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA). The ensemble will perform at the TMEA convention in February, showcasing the program that earned them the state’s top ranking. Being named a TMEA Honor Orchestra, Band, or Ensemble is the highest recognition a music program in Texas can achieve.
A new record was set as 175 Klein ISD student-athletes from our five high schools have achieved Academic All-State recognition from the Texas High School Coaches Association in Cross-Country, Volleyball, Team Tennis, and Water Polo. Twelve of these exceptional students have been selected for the prestigious Elite Team, representing a 33% percent increase. To be considered for this achievement, student-athletes must be seniors with good standing on their athletic team, have an overall minimum grade average of 92, and be of good moral character.
The safety of our students and staff remains a top priority, and I am deeply grateful for the dedicated efforts of our Klein ISD Police Department. Recently, the KPD earned the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) Agency Trilogy designation. In addition to being the first and finest school district police force in the state, our very own Klein ISD Police Department is also the first school district police force in Texas ever to receive this prestigious designation.
I’d also like to give a huge thank you to our incredible Klein Police Department, who work 365 days a year and 24 hours a day to Keep Klein Safe!
We remain grateful to our community for your support of the 2022 Bond. Currently, our projects include complete modernizations of Wunderlich Intermediate and Greenwood Forest Elementary as schools which are over 50 years old. Additionally, Klein Forest is receiving an additional gym and auditorium renovation to make it comparable to our other Klein ISD high schools. You can find out more details about the progress of the 2022 Bond at https://kleinisdbond.com.
Earlier this year, I shared that 95% of our families who responded to our Annual Satisfaction Survey reported that they would recommend Klein ISD to a friend. With that tremendous vote of confidence in mind, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of ChooseKlein.net, a new resource designed to help families explore all that Klein ISD has to offer. Here you will find detailed information about each of our schools, programs of study, and the wide variety of courses available across the district—from advanced academics and career and technical education to fine arts and specialized electives. Even more importantly, it gives families a voice, offering the opportunity to leave reviews and share their personal experiences as part of the Klein Family. We would love to hear your story, so please visit ChooseKlein.net today.
I hope you take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality time with family, friends, and loved ones over the Winter Break. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year, Klein Family—we’ll see you in 2026!
