Klein Oak students Rae Knight, Sabrina Hernandez, and Taylor Mills have earned one of the highest honors in Texas student journalism: a spot on the 2025 All-State Journalism Staff. This prestigious recognition places them among the top student journalists in the state.
Klein Oak Journalism teacher, Ms. Joanie Gill, shared her excitement and pride in honor of the achievement:
“I am incredibly proud of Taylor, Sabrina, and Rae for being named to the Texas All-State Journalism Staff. It is no easy task to earn this honor,” Ms. Gill said. “Each of them worked on more than one journalism staff and held a top editor position. In addition to their editorial roles, they earned local and state recognition in UIL Academics and while representing Klein Oak Career and Technical Education through the Technology Student Association. These young go-getters have lofty goals and the tenacity to achieve them. I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to teach and advise each of them all four years through the Klein Oak journalism program.”
To secure a place on the All-State team, these outstanding Panther journalists had to earn 50 points within a single school year by competing in UIL journalism contests at the invitational, district, regional, and state levels, as well as through ILPC and other local, state, and national competitions. This impressive milestone reflects their dedication, talent, and tireless work ethic.
Please join us in congratulating Rae, Sabrina, and Taylor on this incredible achievement. Your #KleinFamily is so proud of you!
