Klein, Texas—Klein ISD proudly recognized 1,698 graduating seniors across all five high schools during the annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day, celebrating a record-breaking 5,272 industry certifications earned this year.
This momentous event marked a milestone in the district’s commitment to preparing students for life after graduation through real-world learning experiences. Students were honored for achieving industry-recognized certifications, gaining acceptance into related college programs, receiving job offers, and enlisting in military service—each achievement a testament to the strength of Klein ISD’s 54 CTE programs.
“Congratulations to our outstanding Career and Technical Education students for boldly pursuing their passions and career goals,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Thanks to the dedication of our incredible teachers and staff, these students are gaining real-world, hands-on experience and earning industry-recognized certifications, all before graduating high school. I am extremely proud of their hard work and determination. My heart is full of pride, and I cannot wait to see the amazing impact they’ll make as they continue pursuing their purpose in college, career, or military after high school.”
Through rigorous coursework and robust program offerings—from Animation and Cybersecurity to Health Sciences and Welding—Klein ISD’s CTE programs extend core academics into specialized, purpose-driven education. These programs empower students to test for and earn certifications that set them apart in college, career, or military pursuits.
“The Class of 2025 has shown us what dedication, purpose, and passion look like,” said Deborah Bronner-Westerduin, Director of Career & Technical Education. “Whether they’ve earned a certification, been accepted into a college program aligned with their CTE studies, joined the military, or stepped into a career, each has taken ownership of their future. I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished and the foundation they’ve built for what comes next.”
The six categories of recognition included:
- Acceptance into a university major aligned with a CTE program
- Job offers in a CTE-related industry
- Attainment of an associate degree
- Level 1 Certificate through Lone Star College
- Industry-Based Certifications
- Military enlistment
Among those celebrated was Jael Price, a Medical Assistant student from Klein Collins High School, who shared her journey.
“The process of achieving my certification has been challenging but rewarding,” Price said. “After receiving this certification, I want to get more experience in the medical field, land some summer jobs, and then get more experience while I'm in college.”
Family, friends, and mentors joined in the celebration, cheering on the Class of 2025 as they took the next step toward their futures with pride and confidence. Whether entering the workforce, continuing college coursework, or serving in the military, these students leave high school with valuable skills and a clear sense of purpose.
Congratulations to all our graduating seniors! Your dedication, resilience, and achievements reflect the very best of our Klein Family.
