Helper at Heart: Jessica Tran Shines as a Kind Leader at Kohrville Elementary

For Kohrville Elementary third-grader Jessica Tran, kindness isn’t just something she practices—it’s who she is. During her time at Kohrville Elementary School, she has been a shining example of what it means to be an excellent student and outstanding classmate.

“Jessica is a sweet kid and helps students anytime they need it,” third-grade teacher Courtney Blankenship said. “She reminds students of the expectations. She works hard and does her best in class, and encourages her classmates to do the same!”

Whether she is in her own classroom or in the hallways, Jessica is always willing to lend a helping hand. She finds the most joy in helping those younger than her.

“I like helping people like the little kids who are really small,” Jessica said. “When I see them having a hard time, I really want to help them!”

Her kindness extends beyond academics—it’s woven into everything she does. Aside from being helpful, Jessica always shows compassion to those around her. When a friend or classmate is sad or struggling, she is always there with open arms to offer a hug or kind words, and always has a genuine compliment to share with her peers.

“Kindness to me means being really nice,” Jessica said. “I like it when people are nice to me because I get to be nice to them, too. My favorite way to show my kindness to my friends is by helping them out.”

Jessica is a proud member of the Coyote Council, always eager to make her school a better place. When she is not busy with her classwork, she often volunteers to be the new student's “buddy” helper, assisting them with procedures and providing support throughout the day and beyond.

Lending a helping hand doesn’t stop at school for Jessica; at home, she also helps her mother take care of her younger siblings. Outside of school, Jessica enjoys swimming, playing soccer, and riding her monkey board. Jessica loves drawing, and she attends the jogging club, is involved in the winter drama club, and the Pearl Park club.

With a generous heart and excellent leadership skills, it is clear that Jessica takes pride in being kind. Jessica’s natural compassion and leadership make her a true standout at Kohrville.
