Klein, Texas—Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown was honored by the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts during its fall luncheon, Expressions of Gratitude, celebrating her exceptional leadership and the district’s commitment to providing every student a best-in-class arts education.

Luncheon Chair Sue Ann Lurcott welcomed local leaders, educators, and museum supporters, highlighting the museum’s long-standing collaboration with Klein ISD that connects students to world-class art and creative opportunities.

The Arts as a Necessity

Longtime educator and former Klein ISD Board member Dr. Nancy Radcliffe praised Dr. McGown’s two decades of dedication to public education and her focus on the arts as essential to student growth.

“It has been a true pleasure in my life to have watched Dr. McGown grow professionally from a classroom teacher in Klein to become one of the most influential and talented superintendents in the state of Texas,” Dr. Radcliffe said.

Dr. Radcliffe credited the museum's partnership with Dr. McGown and Klein ISD for giving students “a true gift” by inspiring creativity, problem-solving, and confidence.

Championing Klein ISD’s Triple A Tradition

Accepting the honor, Dr. McGown dedicated the recognition to Klein ISD’s over 7,000 employees who “pour out their lives every day for the benefit of our nation’s future.”

“In Klein ISD, the arts are not an extra—they’re essential to what we do every day,” Dr. McGown said.

In her acceptance speech, Dr. McGown underscored Klein ISD’s Triple A tradition—academics, athletics, and the arts—and noted that Klein ISD has been recognized nationally as a Best Community for Music Education for 14 consecutive years, ranks among the top 1.7% of Texas districts in theater arts, and the top 1.3% in visual arts.

She also celebrated the museum–district partnership that welcomes every Klein ISD third grader to the Pearl each year—opening doors for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience fine art.

“Because of this partnership, tens of thousands of our students have walked the Pearl’s galleries, wondered, and been inspired,” she said. “For some of our students, if it were not for this partnership, they might not have the chance to experience world-class art at such a young age. A love of fine arts early in life opens doors, inspires hope, and reminds every student that they belong.”

A Call to Support the Arts

Closing her remarks, Dr. McGown invited the community to continue supporting the Pearl Fincher so that every student can access transformative arts experiences.

“When we come together with students’ best interests at heart, there is no end to the good we can achieve for our community and our world,” Dr. McGown said.
