Siddarth "Sid" Sannabhadti, senior and valedictorian at Klein Oak High School, has achieved another prestigious honor: he has been named a winner of a National Merit Scholarship.

"Receiving this scholarship was a goal to prove that I could achieve anything I put my mind to. I am extremely grateful that I had teachers who prepared me well for the PSAT, ensuring my fundamentals were thorough," Sid said. "My Algebra II Teacher, Mr. Spencer, was instrumental in laying the foundations I needed to succeed on this exam, and I don't think I would have received this scholarship if not for his impact. I'm also thankful to my Klein Oak Family, who supported me throughout the National Merit Scholarship process. I plan to use this scholarship at Stanford University, where I will study Computer Science."

With more than 6,930 Merit Scholars expected to be named nationwide by this year's scholarship competition, Sid's recognition places him in an elite group of academic champions, less than 1% of the nation's high school seniors.

Sid's achievement reflects his stellar academic record, commitment to excellence, leadership, service, and dedication to impact beyond the classroom. As Klein Oak's Class of 2025 valedictorian, he has set the standard for academic success and intellectual curiosity.

"Sid has been a stand-out since his early years. Even in 5th grade, he demonstrated confident yet thoughtful debating skills, always respecting others' ideas," Sid's former teacher, Ms. Janet Hogan, said. "His leadership during the Innovation Challenge helped foster true teamwork—and may have even charmed the judges enough to tip the scales in his team's favor. While classmates shared Spring Break stories, Sid memorized the first 100 digits of pi, turned it into a rap, and inspired others to learn it. His intellect is impressive, but his character, intuition, and people skills set him apart. Sid is a bright light with a promising future ahead."

Sid’s impact has clearly resonated with those who’ve watched him grow, from his early days of imaginative leadership to his current achievements. That pride extends across the district as well.

"We are incredibly proud of Sid," Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. McGown said. "He is an exceptional leader and scholar, always using his many talents, gifts, and abilities to serve others. Sid represents the absolute best of Klein ISD and his future is undoubtedly bright.”

This recognition is one of many stepping stones as Sid prepares to take on the challenges and opportunities of his academic career.

Sid, your #KleinFamily is so proud of you and can't wait to see the impact you have in the future.
